Rallysport Engineering prides itself on being able to offer once in a lifetime projects. Our projects offer students the chance to gain additional skills that would not be part of a normal curriculum.

The photos below show just a handful of the current projects we have at both our Wickford and Colchester academy's. Click on the orange Top Fuel Teachers button to see some of the highly acclaimed 'Top Fuel Teachers' videos, created by the Rallysport Colchester team.

Along with the IMI qualifications our project cars help to introduce students to:

  • panel replacement and upgrade

  • parts fabrication

  • basic vehicle electrical wiring

  • engine modifications

  • vehicle race and rally preparation

  • vehicle weight reduction

Kit Car

Kit Car

The Robin Hood kit car was built several years ago but has since been left unused after a minor electrical fire caused by a fueling issue. Our plan is to address the wiring, either through repair or replacement and get the engine running once again. Following that, we will completely strip the car down to its bare chassis, have it shot-blasted, and then powder-coated in Rallysport colours.

Ford Fiesta JWRC

Ford Fiesta JWRC

We started off with a standard 2.0l 16v Ford Fiesta ST we then removed all of the interior, front wings and rear quarter panels before fitting a carbon fibre Junior World Rally Car body kit. The vehicle also features a full weld-in roll cage, racing bucket seats, harnesses and an internal fuel cell. Sitting on 18” wheels with upgraded brakes, suspension, and 50mm wheel spacers. With the project nearing completion, our goal is to have the vehicle fully prepared for the 2025 show season.

Focus WRC

Focus WRC

A project dating back many years this car has undergone many transformations including a WRC body kit, roll cage, racing seats and harnesses being fitted, battery relocated, Perspex race windows and custom suspension. In the last 5 months the Focus WRC has been completely rebuilt to include a new engine, wiring loom and RS brake upgrade, intercom, fire extinguisher, light pod, hydraulic handbrake and a rally livery.

Renault Sport Clio

Renault Sport Clio

At Rallysport, we have a passion for hot hatches, and this Clio Sport is a prime example. Boasting 197bhp as standard, the car has been further enhanced with an ECU remap and a cold air induction kit to boost both power and drivability. To reduce weight, the interior has been stripped, and racing bucket seats along with harnesses have been installed. Our vision is to continue refining its performance on the track, with a focus on progressively reducing lap times through ongoing upgrades.

Project D

Project D

Starting off as a standard diesel focus that made 90bhp it has been converted by our students to an ST engine making 330bhp, there is not one nut or bolt that hasn't been turned and not one aspect of it that hasn't been changed or modified. Track Car

Track Car

Starting off life as a standard 1.8 Focus it is now in the process of an engine swap from a Mondeo ST 220 turning it in to a 3 litre V6, fully stripped out and track focused with an amazing MAXXIS Tyres livery.
